This is a fantastic invention which save us not only time, but also energy and the environment; a dishwasher uses both detergents and energy at much smarter and lower levels compared to handwashing of dishes. So far so good. But there is two risks with this machine that we should be aware of. One is that the impeller in the water pump breaks or is jammed. The other one is that the water connection in or out for some reason breaks or start leaking. The first fault will show itself in the way that the machine is not able to pump out the water – no good. The other in the way that you will experience a possible major damage when the kitchen is flooded. How to minimize the risk: Keep the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher clean! This can be a bit of a uuuhhrk job, but if you do it once a month it is not that bad. Great job to designate for someone else in the householdJ. Regarding the other possibly bigger problem, we recommend that you avoid it by regular simple inspections, e.g. pull out the machine once a year, yes it can be done relatively easy, and check all tubes and connections. And clean this dust trap. If there is even the slightest little leak anywhere, or tubes not firmly attached, call someone to come and fix.
